Just a reminder there is no class this week or next week.

After the holiday break, we'll be back at Ballroom City, on New Year's Eve... refreshed and ready to dance!!!

Why not ring in the New Year 2013 doing one of the things you love best? It is guaranteed to be a lovely, fun-filled evening of dance, delicious food and the company of friendly dancers.

Hard to believe, but we're approaching a brand new year. January may be cold, but we will start it off sizzling - with salsa lessons!

Join Vito on Friday nights in January for HOT salsa! This class is open to dancers at every level, so whether you've been dancing for quite a while or you are just starting out, you'll feel comfortable here. Vito makes it easy and fun. He takes it step by step.

Pure enjoyment, just like dancing should be.

Christmas Potluck and Ballroom Dance - This Friday!!!

Hello there, dancers!

The party last Saturday at Ballroom City was LOTS of fun! We mixed a few Christmas dance tunes in with the regular ballroom favorites. It was a great turnout, lots of smiling faces. More dancers than usual just didn't want to leave - they danced until the last song was played. What fun!

We're in full holiday swing now, with Vito's big event of the season coming up this Friday night:

Tango group lesson at 7:00 pm followed by open dancing. This fun evening of dance takes place also at the Georgetown Clubhouse in Wood Dale.  

Dance party this Saturday night!

Vito is the guest pro for his monthly lesson and dance party at Ballroom City in Villa Park this Saturday night. Come join us for a bolero lesson at 7:30, dance party at 8:00, or all of the above...

Important Date Changes for December

Greetings Dancers!

A couple of important date changes.

In response to your numerous requests, Vito has changed the date of his December holiday potluck dance from December 28 to Friday, December 21. He anticipates this will allow those who could not make the prior date to fit it in to December's busy schedule. Thanks to those of you who have already expressed your encouragement and delight with this change. We look forward to seeing you there!

There will be no class on Friday, December 28th. The regular dance schedule will resume in the new year.

The remainder of December remains the same, with advanced class on Wednesday night and Vito's very enjoyable class on Friday night, followed by open dance practice. The Friday class is open to all dancers. It's always a fun time, not to mention a great value. The schedule is below. Stop by one Friday to check it out. I promise you'll want to come back again and again!

December with Vito Magrone

It's hard to believe the holiday season is approaching! We've got a fun-filled December planned. Here are some of the highlights.

Wednesday nights, Vito hosts an advanced class at the Georgetown Clubhouse. Details are on his website.

Friday nights are a lot of fun. First, a lesson at 7:00, taught by Vito. It's Tango in the month of December. Then, included in the price, it's open dancing from 8pm on. The perfect way to unwind from the week and kick off the weekend!

 

 

On the 28th of December, you are invited to our monthly special dance party. I'll be there, playing your favorite ballroom dance songs and taking requests.

Time to dance...

You should be dancing!

 

Hope you had a great holiday! If you have the post-Thanksgiving "what am I going to do with myself now" blues - we've got good news for you. You can get out, enjoy yourself and burn off some calories all at the same time. It doesn't get any better than that! After the week off - Vito's schedule resumes:

 

Advanced class will be held on Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm.

 

This Friday is our monthly dance. It starts with a free Tango lesson at 7:00 p.m. and the dance starts at 8:00. I'll be there (I'm the DJ!), playing ballroom favorites, oldies, classics, not-so-oldies-but-goodies. This is such a nice dance. Give it a try - I guarantee you'll be glad you did.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Vito Magrone Ballroom Dance Club!

In light of the upcoming holiday, we would like to give YOU thanks!

When we add it all up, hundreds of people have come out for classes, dances and lessons since we kicked off our grand re-opening. This blog has had several hundred page views since we started it last month. We can't thank you enough! We hope you are having the time of your life dancing with us, and wish you and yours the happiest of holidays this week.

Just a reminder, there is no class this week. We're off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes resume next week with the advanced class on Wednesday. Our big monthly dance party is Friday, November 30th. By then, we'll have digested all of our turkey, and we will be ready once again to get out, dance, and have some fun!

Friday Nights at Georgetown Clubhouse with Vito Magrone

Last night's dance was so much fun! It brought both new and familiar faces. If you haven't been to Vito's class/open ballroom dance on Friday nights at the Georgetown Clubhouse yet, you are invited to stop by and check it out. Folks, this is a very nice event!!! I think you'll discover a friendly crowd, welcoming environment, fun group of people, and everyone just having a great time. Of course, Vito's charm and personality speaks for itself. As does his skill as a dancer and teacher. You'll be glad you came.

Schedule Change - Good News!

When we're not ballroom dancing at the Georgetown Clubhouse, they host weddings and parties there. That's good, because this is not just a re-purposed gym or community center. It's a very nice place to dance. The flipside of that is scheduling. As you can imagine, it can be tricky. Vito was originally told he could not reserve the 16th of November date because it was booked. Well, they must have had a cancellation at the clubhouse, because Vito was told this week the date is now available. So, good news... we're back on for Friday the 16th! Friday night's cha cha class & open ballroom dance

Hi gang,
 
Talked to Vito today. We're going to have what could best be described as a "mini dance" after the cha cha class this Friday. I'll be there for both the class and the open dance with my full library of 8,500+ ballroom and popular dance tunes; a selection of the most popular songs for your dancing and listening pleasure.

Last time I was at the Georgetown Clubhouse, it was a great time. We ended the evening with a few songs directly played through the sound system directly from Joe Sbertoli's iPod. I do take requests. If you have a particular dance you'd like to do or a song you'd like to hear, feel free to add a comment below and I'll add it to the evening's playlist.

Many of you know Mike Fitzgerald.

Well, Mike created a Testimonials page on Vito's website. This was a fantastic idea. Nothing could possibly be a better recommendation for Vito's amazing talent, both as a dancer and instructor, and for his 1000-watt personality than the word-of-mouth of his dancers, right?

Sure... but, to date, there are (count 'em) TWO testimonials! Pretty pathetic, huh? LOL!

While Mike is away with his lovely wife Barb for two months vacationing in Arizona, I'll be taking care of Vito's website. I'd say I got the better end of that deal, don't you think? (Ha ha ha!) At any rate, during that time, I'd like to add a few more testimonials. Actually, I'd like to add many more. Two is a pretty puny number.

If you care to give Mr. Magrone a shout-out, please either post a comment here on the blog or contact me privately and I'll post it.

This Friday is cha cha night!

Hello dancers,

Hope you had a nice Halloween. The week has flown by! I can't believe we're approaching the weekend already... time to firm up some plans:

Vito has a Cha Cha group lesson at the Georgetown Clubhouse this Friday night, 11/2. The Cha Cha pattern Vito will teach is for all dancers. That means everyone is welcome, regardless of level of expertise. This is a fun, easygoing and casual evening. On top of all of that, there is open dance practice after the lesson. Guaranteed to be a good time!

Vito Magrone's November Schedule 2012

Vito will be hosting a Saturday night ballroom dance at Ballroom City in Villa Park on Saturday, November 24, 2012. Cost is $10 per person and it includes a lesson. the lesson starts at 7:30pm and the dance begins at 8pm. November's lesson will be a Foxtrot pattern. This is always a fun and friendly dance. Last month's Rumba lesson and dance were great, Vito is always entertaining and such a pro, and Mary is a fantastic hostess!
