Swingin' with the Oldies at Ballroom City

On Saturday, August 16th I'll be at Ballroom City in Villa Park for a retro-inspired dance. We'll have oldies all night - not just Foxtrot and Swing, but all of your ballroom favorites.

If you'd like to dress for the era (completely optional of course), we'll offer a prize for the best 40s or 50s look!

Vito Magrone, one of Ballroom City's most fun and entertaining hosts, will teach Swing from 7:30 to 8:00. The dancing will begin after that. $10 admission, includes both the lesson and the dance! You can't beat that!

Here's some inspiration for those who would like to dress up. Completely optional, but you can see from these pics that it can be easy to go retro! Guys, regular clothes with a hat or a pair of suspenders would do the trick. Denim is OK just for this event, so you can also do the classic 50s greaser look with jeans and a white t-shirt. Ladies, Capri pants and a scarf in the hair or a full skirt look great! Of course, if you have something a little more elaborate, as mentioned in the previous post, we will be giving out a prize for the best retro ensemble! Letterman sweater or jacket? Poodle skirt? Have a bit of fun with it. Why not? Knock us out, dollies and daddy-os, hep cats and pretty babies!
