Ballroom Dancing at the Georgetown Clubhouse - and Around Town with Vito

We've been meeting weekly (on Thursday nights) in the South Meeting Room at our home studio, the Georgetown Clubhouse in Wood Dale, for West Coast Swing group class. The South Meeting Room is good-sized, and overall it has accomodated the class well. The workers are finished for the day by the time we get there at 7:00 pm, and the clubhouse is always left clean and quiet for our arrival. All things considered, it really says a lot about this group of people that this West Coast Swing class has been so much fun...

But we're still anxious to get back to the main ballroom and dance on a brand new floor! One of the interesting things about coming to the clubhouse each week has been taking a quick second or two to sneak a peek behind all that plastic sheeting to see how the new floor is coming along.

Last week, the concrete had been removed and workers were installing drain tiles and a new pump system to control moisture. This week, they were finished with that. They had poured a new, smooth layer of concrete and it looked dry.

We're told the next step is the floor itself!

Georgetown management has not yet made any future dates available for booking, so we're not certain we'll have a dance this month. I'll send out an announcement if they allow us to schedule one. If not, we'll resume our monthly ballroom dances in May for sure. I'll keep you posted.

Saturday, April 13

Vito will host the Dance World monthly dance. He'll teach a Cha Cha lesson from 7:30 - 8:30 pm. A ballroom dance party follows immediately afterward.

Funny thing. The Triphahn Center (where the Dance World dance is normally hosted) is also closed for construction! Talk about a coincidence. This month, the dance will take place at Keller Jr. High (Schaumburg School Dist 54)

Saturday, April 20

Vito will be appearing at Ballroom City in Villa Park for the monthly dance he hosts there. Join Vito at 7:30 pm for a Rumba lesson, followed by an open ballroom dance party from 8:00 to 11:00. Guaranteed fun!
