This Saturday Night at Dance World

Dance World is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization promoting all forms of dance, including Ballroom, Latin, Hustle and Swing. The club supports exposure to dance education and provides a safe and enjoyable social atmosphere.

 

Each month, a different professional ballroom dance instructor is invited to teach the pre-dance lesson at Dance World. Vito is always a favorite. Last April, he taught Cha Cha to a packed house.

 

Vito will be back at Dance World THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, April 12. This time, he'll teach Rumba.

 

Come out and join us in supporting Dance World. A lovely evening with a good group of people!

Fun Times

What a lovely group of people. I'm always so very impressed with the group of dancers. I am so glad that (several years ago now) my husband Andy and I discovered ballroom dance and made it one of our hobbies. The time has flown by, and we have so many valued friendships as a result of our involvement in dance.

I chose the title 'Fun Times' for this blog post because we had a great time last night, and we've got more to come! Here goes. I'll do a little looking back and then a little looking forward... 

Last night's kickoff Saturday night dance at Georgetown West was the BEST! We had some beautiful dancing, a lot of laughter and some new, friendly faces.

Congratulations to Mike Fitzgerald, who won the 'Name That Tune' prize.

Our next dance at Georgetown West will take place on Saturday, June 7. Vito will be teaching Waltz that evening. Mark your calendar!

But that's still a way off. Let's talk about what's up in the meantime.

This coming Saturday, April 12 - Vito will be the guest instructor at Dance World. He will be teaching Rumba, followed by an evening of ballroom dance hosted by the Dance World group. It's a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting dance sport in the Chicagoland area. Great cause! Great time! Sounds like a wonderful idea...

Saturday, April 19, Vito will be at Ballroom City hosting his monthly dance there. The theme is "Spring Fever". I think we're all ready for some of that!

Friday night, May 2, we'll be at Tango Argentina Club for a Cinco de Mayo weekend kickoff party. The music and theme will be Latin-inspired. We'll be playing a few smooth favorites and taking requests all night as well. The hosts, Marie and Ruben Carrasco are the most welcoming folks you'll ever meet. They prepare homemade appetizers, entrees and dessert and an evening there is always magical.

Our goal is simple, but ambitious - make this the BEST Spring dancing season EVER for you! Stop on by. Enjoy!!!

April Schedule

The April group class and events schedule has just been released! Vito has lots of fun things planned for this first full month of Spring.

We'll start off Tuesday, April 1st (no fooling) with Advanced Class. The group has been working on Tango (with some brand new steps) for the past two months. Vito will take a vote and we'll decide as a group what to work on next. Whether we continue with Tango or switch to another dance, the patterns will be new. If you're a dancer who has been at it for a while and feel ready for advanced class, you can either give Vito a call 630-542-7644 or email vito@just-dance.us

Thursday, April 3 is the first regular class night. We've got level I Salsa at 7:00. No dance is experience necessary. Salsa is always great fun!

Bolero follows at 8:00. Although the schedule says "Level II", Vito will be reveiwing basic Bolero before teaching patterns, so if you don't remember much of the Bolero, don't worry. He'll make sure everyone is on the same page before he moves on.

All group classes take place at Georgetown West.

Also in April, we have a dance at Georgetown West on the 5th. We're all really excited about this one, it's our debut Saturday night dance! Vito will be teaching Cha Cha prior to the dance party.

On Saturday, April 12, Vito will be making his first appearance of 2014 at Dance World, where he'll teach Rumba.

As many of you know, Vito hosts one dance per month at Ballroom City. In April, he'll be appearing there on the 19th for his Spring Fever dance. He'll teach Rumba that evening as well.

Lots to do! It is going to be a fabulous April!

Saturday Night Dances!

As you may have heard, our big news at the moment is the announcement of NEW Saturday night dances. Our debut dance is Saturday, April 5th.  Dancers have been telling us for a while now that there isn't much going on in the immediate vicinity in the ballroom world that first Saturday of the month. We listened, and we're excited to be offering this opportunity.

It took some work to negotiate Saturday nights at Georgetown West. It's the hottest night of the week for bookings. Help us to make this event become a permanent one by coming out and showing your support. A good time? Guaranteed!

Vito will be teaching CHA CHA starting at 7:30. The dance party starts at 8:00.

If you've never been to Georgetown West before, you'll find the dance floor is very spacious and comfortable. This is not a re-purposed basketball court or community center. It's a real dance floor... a nice place to be! Refreshments are served, and parking is free. We think you'll like it!

Introducing Saturday Night Dances at Georgetown West!

Hope you are staying warm. Even though it looks just like a pretty Winter postcard outside, I'm officially done with Winter and ready for some Spring! How about you?

Starting Saturday, April 5, 2014, Just Dance Studios will be hosting one Saturday night ballroom dance per month at Georgetown West in Wood Dale. We're aiming for that first Saturday night of each month, and have scheduled our first dance for Saturday, April 5th. Sure, it's a ways away, but I wanted to give you the heads-up. Vito will be teaching Cha Cha for the first one. It will definitely be a good time! Hope you can come on out and join us...
